About the event
The Emigrants by renowned Polish playwright Sławomir Mrożek (translated by Henry Beissel) comes to Vancouver stages. Starring Jacob Machin and Akshaya Pattanayak. Exploring the struggles of migrants, addressing themes of uprooting, alienation, discrimination, and loss of personal worth, the story follows two characters in a foreign land, navigating challenges and grappling with their identities. Mrozek's writing prompts reflection on the motivations behind migration, from economic necessity to a yearning for freedom.
